November 2026: Sub-account onboarding: review & submit and T&C endpoints
Three new endpoints are now live for the final stages of sub-account onboarding, covering everything between adding a sub-account's information and activating it. You can now check an application for issues before submitting it, submit it for KYB/KYC review, and trigger the director's Terms & Conditions email, all through the API.
New endpoints
Get submission checks
Endpoint: GET https://docs.verto.co/reference/get_submission_checks
Returns every issue still open on a sub-account's application. BLOCKING issues must be fixed before you can submit. WARNING issues are advisory and never block submission, but they can delay review. The response includes backgroundCheckStatus, so you can see when document and data analysis has finished.
Submit application
Endpoint: POST https://docs.verto.co/reference/post_submit_application
Submits the application for KYB/KYC compliance review. If BLOCKING issues remain, the request is rejected with a 422 and tells you how many are outstanding.
Send T&C email
Endpoint: POST https://docs.verto.co/reference/trigger_email_to_subclient_director
Sends the Terms & Conditions acceptance email to the sub-account's director once the application has been approved. The sub-account becomes fully active when the director accepts.
How it works
- Add all of the sub-account's information and documents
- Call Get submission checks, resolve every BLOCKING issue and review every WARNING
- For Atlas for Platform, wait for
backgroundCheckStatusto beCOMPLETED - Call Submit application
- Verto's compliance team reviews the application. If they need more information, they email you a request for information (RFI)
- Once approved, call Send T&C email so the director can accept
- Authenticate with Sub-Account Login to start using the sub-account
Standard applications are reviewed within 2 working days. High-risk industry applications can take up to 5 working days.
Scope: Sub-accounts only. Get submission checks and Submit application return a 409 for KYC level 0 sub-accounts, because they are approved automatically.
Send T&C email applies to Atlas for Platform (PARTNER_REFERRED) sub-accounts only.
📘 Use TIER_2, or leave tier out, on both Get submission checks and Submit application. TIER_1 is not supported for sub-accounts at this time.
